Herbal Education

Classes and workshops are scheduled offerings open to the public and are held either in person or virtually, depending on the topic and season. Classes focus on foundational herbal education, while workshops offer more in-depth, hands-on learning such as medicine making.

To accommodate our wider community, many offerings are also available online. Live Zoom classes allow participants to attend in real time and include a 10-day recorded replay. 

Desert Moon Botanicals offers guided, place-based plant walks focused on herbal medicine, ethnobotanical use, and learning plants in relationship to their local environment.

During these walks, participants learn to recognize plants in the field, observe key identifying features, and understand how habitat, climate, and seasonal conditions influence growth and traditional use. Discussion includes ethnobotanical context and how plants have historically been worked with in different regions, with attention to respectful relationship to place.

Locations, terrain, and accessibility vary by walk.

Private education offerings are available for small groups, organizations, and workplaces seeking instruction in herbal medicine and practical plant-based practices.

 These offerings are suitable for community groups, offices, and organizations seeking plant-based education led by an experienced herbalist. 

Speaking engagements are available for organizations, community groups, and events seeking grounded, educational talks on herbal medicine and plant-based practices.

Topics are tailored to the audience and may be suitable for educational events, conferences, community gatherings, or workplace programming.
